Green Crossings: Pedestrian Prints

In an effort to encourage city dwellers to walk, rather than get in to their cars, the China Environmental Protection Foundation in collaboration with DDB China turned to street art for their inspired campaign. Over a series of pedestrian crossings across Shanghai, a canvas of a tree and its bare limbs was placed on the ground. Large sponge pads with green paint were placed on either side on the sidewalks. As people stepped into the paint and crossed the street, entire trees came into leaf.
