Soiled and Seeded's summer 2013 issue is in the works

We'd like to welcome you all back. Yes, it's true, we are hard at work on our ninth issue. While we have not published in the last while, we've been busy rethinking, regrouping and envisioning a solid future for Soiled and Seeded. As a small non-profit, and many hours already devoted to this online endeavor, it was time to lay low and change-up our game plan.

Since we put our first edition online in October 2010, we've been able to offer eight plant-filled issues with a wildly diverse collection of essays, stories and interviews. Whether it’s profiling innovative community initiatives or the enduring passions of gardening enthusiasts, our obsession lies with nature and the wonderfully wide world of plants.

Soiled and Seeded has always been run in our spare time, on volunteer hours. Our tiny three person team brings together the creative, cutting-edge and inspired work of our contributors, an interdisciplinary assembly of artists, educators, writers, poets, photographers and scientists. This fledgling operation has grand ambitions and we have set our sights high.

So, you can expect to see some changes in the coming weeks, some subtle, others not. And as far as our upcoming issue, it will be voluminous and it will take you all around the world.
